This was my first yr1 project which was based around our muse within sports. I chose to base my project on beach volleyball player: Kristen Nuss, who I aspire to be (being a beach volleyball athlete myself). This project has a large focus on sustainability - experimentation with fishing nets, plastic and fabric waste. Beach volleyball has a large community based around protecting our environment and oceans, because the sport is located on beaches around the world where athletes rely on environmental conditions, as well as seeing the damage to our planet. I focused on off-court clothing within colder countries (such as England where I train) and finally ended up with a Dryrobe prototype. The colour palette of my dryrobe were based on the bright fishing nets in the project research.
